Campers will enjoy the benefits of outdoor activities, sports, nature discoveries, interactive games, enrichment activities for learning and building new skills, and participate in hands-on arts and crafts projects. Each week will feature a new theme and creative projects designed to keep campers engaged and having fun this summer while making new friends.

Early camp drop off (7:30am) $40 per week

Bus transportation at $40 per week.

Overnights: +$95/week: Campers 2nd-11th grade. Overnights are Thursday after camp until the start of the camp day Friday. Dinner, snack, breakfast, and Friday lunch/snacks are included. Must be registered for the camp week to attend. Activities include field games, extra swimming, night hikes, campfire, and more!

Explorers (Rising 4th-6th): Our Explorers Program is designed to empower campers as they embark on a journey of self-discovery and skill development. As an Explorer, campers can dive into a variety of activities, explore their identities, and build lasting friendships. Through engaging experiences, campers will enhance their critical thinking, refine conflict resolution skills, foster independence, and practice positive communication. Our counselors create a supportive environment where every Explorer can thrive and grow, both as a person and as a member of a vibrant community!

​Explorer campers have the opportunity to register for one of six program focus areas. Each Explorer group will have water related activities daily.

Teen Scene (Rising 7th-9th): We understand that 7th-9th graders are looking for something fresh and exciting beyond the usual camp activities. That’s why we offer dynamic sessions filled with both beloved camp favorites and new adventures. In a time of change, we provide a stable environment where teens can truly thrive.

Throughout the week, Teen Scene campers engage in a variety of choice activities, including swimming, sports, horseback riding, art, nature exploration, and hiking. They also have the chance to embark on field trips, some which may include community service.

The Piedmont Family YMCA Sports Camps focus on instructional skill building, fun, and social skills. Every day your child will receive instruction from the YMCA staff. Sports camp is a recreational, play-based program that focuses on fundamentals rather than competition.

Sessions include Flag Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Sports Extravaganza Camp, and All-Girls Sports Extravaganza Camp.

Chess Wizards has been teaching the game of chess since 2002. Join Chess Wizards this summer for challenging chess lessons, games, and prizes. You'll improve your chess skills, meet new friends, and work out your most powerful muscle - your brain! Our camps include fun team chess games (like Corner Chess), recess time (of course), snacks, tournaments, and puzzles. Each camper receives a T-shirt, trophy, and puzzle folder. We include all the materials necessary for your child to participate, but full day kids should bring a lunch. Unleash your brain power and spend part of your vacation with Chess Wizards!

Camp Holiday Trails

 Ages 6-16 years old

Day Camp: 4 day, day camp for mixed diagnoses and their siblings. A great introduction to Camp Holiday Trails, a nonprofit year-round camp for children and teens with medical needs and their siblings.

Diabetes Week: One-week, overnight programming for campers diagnosed with T1D and their siblings.

Ages 7-17 years old

One- or two-week Mixed Diagnoses Session: One- or two-week, overnight camp, for youth ages 7-17 and their siblings impacted by a variety of diagnoses.

All Camp Sessions require a $100 non-refundable deposit fee per camper, which is the total cost of Camp for families.

Partner Camps

Burn Camp: Central Virginia Burn Camp, is a 1-week overnight camp program that has been held at CHT for 30 years, and provides a safe and supportive environment where young burn survivors, ages 7-17, can connect with peers who share similar experiences. Staffed by firefighters, medical professionals, adult burn survivors, and volunteers, the camp fosters healing, confidence, and a sense of community.

Camp Corral: Camp Corral partners with CHT to provide and unique and supportive 1-week overnight Camp program for children of wounded, ill, or fallen military heroes that are ages 9-15.

Camp Youngblood: a week-long overnight camp program at CHT for children ages 7-17, with inherited bleeding disorders, and their siblings, and children of members of the inherited bleeding disorder community that reside within the Virginia Hemophilia Foundation (VHF) or Hemophilia Association of the Capital Area (HACA) coverage area.

All Camp Sessions require a $100 non-refundable deposit fee per camper, which is the total cost of Camp for families.

Roslyn Farm Summer Pony Camp

Regular Day, Full Week: 9:00am - 3:00pm $575

Roslyn Farm offers Summer Pony Camp almost all summer through August 29, perfect for families, especially teachers, returning to work in early August. Families can choose from full days, half days, or extended days.

The oldest campers are typically 10-11 years old. Approximately 5 students per session, .with a maximum of 10 allowed.

Nature Arts Camp 

with Charlottesville Parks & Rec Adaptive

JULY 28 - AUGUST 1 $30/week

For campers who can safely function in a recreation setting with one staff to five young adults, can handle their own toileting, dressing, and eating and have a desire to participate. Participants needing more assistance must come with an aide.

Adaptive Recreation Camp is for campers who need more support than a traditional summer camp can provide. Campers will participate in a variety of activities to include outdoor adventures, games, field trips, arts and crafts and more. Open to city and county residents. Participants must be independent in personal care, will be expected to manage their own behaviors with minimal staff intervention and must have a desire to participate in programming. 

Campers requiring 1:1 assistance are welcome with their own aide who serves as a “volunteer” and must adhere to department volunteer policies/procedures, which may include completion of a criminal background check.

Acceptance to Adaptive Recreation Summer Camps is based on a review by the Adaptive Recreation Manager and Camp Director. Decisions are made considering age of camper; social, emotional and physical needs of camper; and staffing ratios.

Each registrant will receive a follow-up phone call from Adaptive staff and a form that will provide us with more in-depth information about the camper.

Village School Girls Camp

Fantastical Fun Performance Camp (rising 5th & 6th grade)

July 7-11, 9:00am-3:00pm

Electrify the stage with your many talents! Do you like to sing, dance, and act dramatic? Then this is the camp for you! Local performer and singer Xavier Taylor is teaching a special one week camp culminating in a creative and fabulous performance on Friday.

The show will include a variety of skits, one full group song, one dance combination, as well as opportunities for solo, duets, and trio acts. Come play and have fun!

Makeup & Muffins Camp (rising 6th – 8th grade)

July 21-25, 9:00am-3:00pm

Get ready for a week of creativity, flavor, and fun at our Makeup & Muffins Camp! In the morning, you’ll bake mouthwatering treats and learn the art of creating delicious goodies. In the afternoon, dive into the world of special effects makeup, transforming into anything from stunning models to monstrous creations!

Rock Out! Band Camp

with Front Porch

13 to 17-year-olds

Aspiring musician come together to create, collaborate, and perform like true rock stars with the guidance of teaching artists Devon Sproule and Paul Curreri.

🎸 What You'll Do:

  • Form a band with fellow campers and hone your sound.

  • Learn from experienced musicians and instructors.

  • Develop skills in guitar, bass, drums, vocals, keyboards, or songwriting.

  • Dive into music theory, stage presence, and band dynamics.

🎤 Camp Highlights:

  • Instruction on gear, recording, and live performance techniques.

  • Opportunities to write original music and experiment with covers.

  • Campers will perform as a pre-opener at our Rivanna Roots Concert Series on Saturday, July 12th, 2025.

DMR ADVENTURES Performing Arts Academy

Musical Theatre & Production Camps

DMR Adventures offers several immersive production camps for rising elementary to high-school students. Week‑long musical theatre camps include: “Cinderella: If the Shoe Fits” (July 14–18; rising 3rd–8th), “The Little Mermaid JR: Paramount Production Camp” (July 21–25 + July 29–Aug 3; rising 4th–12th), and “The Lion King Kids” (Aug 4–9; rising 3rd–8th). Each camp includes full tech and performance schedules with rehearsals Monday–Thursday, evening shows Friday, and matinee plus evening performances on Saturday. Additionally, the “Between the Lines JR Production Camp” (July 7–12; rising 5th–12th) is a high-intensity week featuring singing, dancing, acting, and final performances.

Technical & Day Drama Camps

For students focusing on behind‑the‑scenes or sampling drama, DMR offers Technical Theatre Camp (rising 5th–10th). These camps run in late June, early and mid‑July, and early August, teaching lighting, sound, stagecraft, and culminating in a showcase/performance each week . Drama Day Camps, themed “Fairytale,” are single‑day half‑to-full day experiences offered July 14–18 and August 11–12 for rising K–6th graders. These camps give younger children a taste of theatre through creative play, storytelling, and group performance.

Ultimate Frisbee Mini Youth Camp

  • Who: Rising 6th to 9th graders — all experience levels welcome

  • What:

    • Fun scrimmages, skill-building, and teamwork

    • Learn rules, techniques, and sportsmanship from experienced coaches

    • Bring water, cleats or running shoes, and a positive attitude

  • When: July 8–12, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

  • Where: Darden Towe Park (exact field info sent via email)

  • Weather: Camp is weather dependent; updates will be sent to parents as needed

  • Cost: "Pay-what-you-can" model — suggested donation is $30, but no one will be turned away based on ability to pay
